The CLB-4 level represents basic English proficiency, which is the minimum requirement for visa-class immigrants in Canada. The course content is designed to develop the language skills needed for daily life and work environments in Canada, which is crucial for new immigrants. Course Objective Develop reading skills to comprehend and analyze academic texts. Improve writing skills to effectively present ideas and opinions in a clear, organized, and coherent manner. Enhance speaking skills to express opinions, ideas, and thoughts fluently and coherently. Develop listening skills to comprehend academic lectures and discussions. Course Outline Week 1-2 Introduction to the IELTS exam. Overview of the IELTS reading test and strategies for answering different types of questions. Practice reading exercises and sample tests. Week 3-4 Overview of the IELTS writing test and strategies for writing task 1 and task 2. Practice writing exercises and sample tests. Week 5-6 Overview of the IELTS speaking test and strategies for answering different types of questions. Practice speaking exercises and sample tests. Week 7-8 Overview of the IELTS listening test and strategies for answering different types of questions. Practice listening exercises and sample tests. Week 9-10 Advanced writing skills for task 2, including academic vocabulary and essay structure. Review of grammar and syntax rules. Week 11-12 Mock IELTS exam and individual feedback. Revision and final exam practice.
